Rohal owes its name to the following legend; Once upon a time, a king was bathing in Srah Srang (Royal Bathing Pool) and his clothes and jewels became wet.
He ordered his attendants to dry them at a nearby field. The field was subsequently named ‘Veal Rohal’ (field of drying cloth) and the nearby village ‘Phum Rohal’ (village of drying cloth).
